In general it probably is a good idea.
I'm not sure if the syntax is ideal, '[' actually might happen in some 
real emails. Debian's issue tracker has a different syntax.
What is most inconvenient about email updates is that if you make a 
mistake in the property changes, the whole email will be rejected.
