OGo Backends

Greets;

I was just wondering, outload if I may, with the forthcomming release of 
Mysql 5.0 (stable)

given its growing maturity and market acceptance, is there a need, 
desire or intend to start to consider a mysql port for the db back end 
as a future option for OGo?

My thinking on this is as follows. If it can be done at some point, it 
may be a worthwhile exercise in terms of gaining market share. While it 
may not be interesting from a technical perspective, mysql remains one 
of the most popular systems available. (not necessarily from a technical 
point, just market share perspective) Now that the installation process 
is seemless or will be seemless with 1.0 populating existing (I guess I 
should say pending) mysql based severs with OGo could have its benefits..:)

I must add a caveat also. I am not sure at this time if 5.0 will be 
mature enough to support OGo's comprehensive bd requirements. Not 
researched it enough at this time, however, looking at some of the 
installed files from a recent release version it appears that there may 
be an interest (in the near future) to examine alternative db systems.
