Excellent points, Martin. I know that if I was a lead developer on a
well known OSCMS, and some group I'd never heard of offered me (or my
group) 'free membership', or 'invited' me to pay for a membership, my
first question would be "Who are you, and what do I and my project get
out of being a member?" Let's get the benefits of membership mapped out,
then worry about the crowds beating down the door to join up.
