A sidebar would just be a XUL page accessing a web server (the one running
cocoon or anything else). That server app can keep records of bookmarks for
users. A sidebar can easily be configured even at the user level to access a
server one holds his personal (or other) bookmarks.

Cocoon would be great in transforming SQL result sets to RDF for client
consumption.

The whole idea is to use a browser when you are connected to the internet and
not physically limit your bookmarks to a machine. It can be a sidebar in Moz
or Opera, (I know it's easy for Mozilla but have no clue about the other
browsers) or it can be a simple web page for cross browser bookmarks.
