Just to make sure it is clear.
You cannot paste text into the translations module from somewhere else.
It will not work, it causes piles of problems and my solution for those 
problems is to remove the entire template in question - so dont do it.

Make sure your browser supports UTF-8 - mozilla and IE both do.
And just type into the text input fields like you would normally. Or if 
must paste odd chacracters then use the operating system character 
selection map tool.
