Not only have I been asked by the SHARE MVS SCP project management team to
come to SHARE in Dallas, but, as I've mentioned over in hercules-390, they
also asked me to help out with the MVT Project 30th anniversary celebration.
The folks there realize what Phil apparently does not: SHARE is a membership
organization, and is bound to what its members want. They want to hear about
Hercules.

FWIW, the materials passed out at SHARE (my Hercules session and Sam
Knutson's *very* popular Fully Wired Hot Topics, which is one of the best
and best-attended sessions there) are 1) the CBT CD-ROM and 2) Volker's
Turnkey MVS CD-ROM. Period. That's it. (Well, and the session handout.)

I make a point in my talk to discuss the licensing issue at (probably too
much for most folks) length. I do that specifically to answer the concerns
of some folks about any hint of advocacy of piracy. You can see for
yourself: my presentation can be viewed online in HTML form at
http://www.conmicro.cx/hercules/s2880jma.htm (though, as would be expected,
this doesn't display well if you're not using M$IE, bleh), or you can
download the PowerPoint 2000 original at

www.linux390.org, but I can't get to the site right now to see what the
exact URL is.

I would love nothing more than to see a SHARE requirement for a hobbyist
license, if for no other reason than IBM would have to take the idea
seriously enough to formulate a formal answer.
