   for various understandable and also some reasons I don't have the background knowledge or
facts to understand, IBM appears to have chosen not to license any of these products on
Hercules.
   As far as I as mostly a lurker can see, no one has actually offered to meet what ever price
IBM might ask. I do understand that in the old PCM days, when asked to license on a unrated
machine, IBM would quote the maximum price for the top of the line available IBM hardware.
   Of course it wouldn't even run, but I'd bet the quoted price for any of these OS's on the
current max 24 way z990 would range into the atmospheric if not astronomic levels.

   And yes, I expect that at least some Herculeans have at least informally approached IBM on
these matters.
