Soundblaster PCI64 works in DOS * thanks to desmatic desmatic

Hi,

I have finally managed to download and try the new drivers from Easy M.A.M.E. Cab side. SBPCI64.ZIP works in pure DOS.

Many thanks to desmatic desmatic for his great efforts.

As for the quality, it depends on a program actually.

Advance M.A.M.E. uses SEAL library and tells me that the sound card is Ensoniq Soundscape at 16-bit stereo 44100 Hz. The sound is clean and the volume level is good (thanks to good drivers with mixer settings).

Kgen98 sounds like shit. It only allows 8-bit mono 22 kHz. Soundblaster 16 PnP ISA was easily going at 16-bit stereo 44 kHz Seems like Kgen was programmed just for SB16.

Genecyst allows 44 kHz STEREO but it seems to be using the hardware FM chip that is only emulated in ES 1370. So you can hear a slight buzz at the background instead of clean FM sound like I used to hear with SB16 ISA. But nothing serious.

Well, DOS programs are simply not designed for PCI soundcards and that is it. Anyway, thanks again.
