Hello Justin!
You have a big problem! First, I need some more details to help you! In
general, if you are using Linux,
try to recompile advmame/mess with svgalib and fb and run the emulator under
console, not X! In console,
you will have more ram and minus process running! Are you using a joystick?
If yes, select other device, like
svgalib! You can down the sample rate a little (44100 or 22050) instead of
48000. Disable the sound_normalize
and the sound_resample too! I have a little better speed disabling them when
using with a Athlon 700 Mhz.
If your soundcard have a bad ALSA support, try to use the OSS sound system!
Use your Linux sound tool to
change the sound system.

I think these tips should help you!

Keep mailing!
