Hello guys!

I installed the SVGALIB 1.9.19 with all contrib patches
(/contrib/mame/svgalib) and compile the AdvancedMAME without a problem.
After reboot my machine, the advcfg and other exec files was unable to find
a video hardware. Of course, I loaded the SVGALIB_HELPER with
"modprobe svgalib_helper", but I have another problem. The exec files told
me that the SVGALIB was not installed proper. So, I switch
to the SVGALIB directory and did a "make install" again, cause the SVGALIB
was already compiled! After that, I simple run advmame with a
game and wow!, it worked!
Now, every time I reboot my machine, I need to do a "make install" again to
use the emulator. I have two things to do at now to solve this problem!
First, enable the svgalib_helper module to be load when necessary. When I
trying to do it with

:alias char-major-209 svgalib_helper

at /etc/modules.conf and give a "depmod -a", the module isn´t load! One day,
somebody give a clue to do this under 2.6.X kernel modules.
I think is a "probeall /dev/svga svgalib_helper" or something like that at
/etc/modules.conf. It´s correct?

And the problem with SVGALIB library? Somebody have another clue? It´s put
me in nervous!

PS: I´m only use the root account, of course! :)

Keep mailing
