I sent a fleet of three fighters and a delayed arrival colonizer to a
planet. When the fighters arrived, they found an enemy fighter and a
colonizer in orbit, but the planet was not yet colonized. In the
battle, my three fighters were destroyed, and the enemy colonizer was
mostly dead. When my colonizer arrived, the enemy colonizer was
completely repaired!
I had assumed that the amount of time between the main fleet arrival
and the delayed arrivals was small enough that no one could repair,
but it seems that any ships that survive the main battle repair
immediately for any delayed arrivals. Is that the way it works in the
Mac version?
I had always assumed that ships take damage during a battle and then
repair before the next turn. Maybe I should rethink. Maybe instead of
taking damage, only the shields take damage, and once the shields are
gone the ship is destroyed. Then shields can regenerate between the
two battles in a turn.
Any thoughts?
