Re: Display State codes in charts?

FYI, until about 50 years ago (?), the state abbreviations were not
standardized, and some were longer than two characters. Just mentioning it
because you may come across them in historical documents.

There is also a standard numbering scheme for the states (and counties),
which is probably not important to most people unless they are trying to
link to other data sources that use it. See:
