We have an ancestor who emigrated from UK to British Colonial America, but who died on the ship en route, in 1682. (Richard Haines, on ship Amity, 23 April 1682 while sailing from Downs to New Jersey) What is the best way to record the location of this event? - the port they sailed from (here Downs) ? - the port they reached inn New Jersey ? - create a place "ship Amity"? and if so, should it be "included" in England, or in a British commercial fleet, or just not included in anything?
