This is not entirely true. I've been using RootsMagic since version 6 or 
7, and took part in the public beta for version 8, and it doesn't look 
like a native MacOS program. The Mac download is three times as large as 
the Windows downloads, and it seems to come with its own sort of 
emulator. Ancestral Quest seems to use a similar trick for MacOS, for 
which the download is also much larger.

I'm a frequent visitor of the RootsMagic community, which also runs on 
Discourse, and I have also read complaints that it's less stable on 
MacOS than on Windows, and not optimized for the latest Mac CPU's.

I run RootsMagic here, because it has the features that I need to work 
with Ancestry and FamilySearch, and it's very stable on Linux, running 
in Wine.

I can't comment on Rootstech.
