oook. after about 4 hours of running the sensor displays locked again. in looking at the
process list i discovered this:

13514 ? Rl 4:07 /usr/bin/gkrellm
31932 ? S 0:00 /usr/bin/gkrellm

so i killed the newest process (higher number) and the sensor displays immediately
responded.

any clues?

this is a new install of kde4. i am still getting used to it and finding where things are.

since i autoload the sensor modules on boot i am not running lm_sensors even though it is
installed.
