(You don't see the echoed test either, also your cwd is reset to ~ when you hit Ctrl-O). That is the issues 2-3 as described in my original letter, and I believe you would hit 1 as well. From mi's comments it seems like 1,2 are WIT, or at least impossible to solve without a proper terminal emulator. No. 3 (the cwd being lost), I hope could be improved, at least under a toggle in settings to preserve old behavior if it's needed. Could it be done, that if a command is started running in /a, and the user navigates to /b in panels, hits Ctrl-O twice to check the terminal, the /b is preserved? That is, the panels remember the cwd and it's only propagated to the subshell after the command has completed?
