No other system installed packages have had issues using Configuration is stored in bdb, as well as the extension "registry". See the various "*.db"s there. Note that probably - by using db5 - you make user dirs created by your OOo breaking with "normal" OOos - new db format etc :-) Patch itself looks OK from a *very* quick look, though.
