Empty Channel list

Hi,
i've just downloaded red-carpet 2 on my Red Hat 9.0
system.

When i start red-carpet i get an empty list of
channels, so i try and refresh the list and get the
following error:

XML Parsing Error: not well-formed
Location: http://red-carpet.ximian.com/channels.xml.gz
Line Number 1, Column 1:

���>channels.xml
^

Any ideas anyone ?
