Evo Strange behaviour

Hi all,

I am running Evo 1.4.6 under Mandrake 10 on an Asus n-force Motherboard,
1.2 Duron, 768Ram.  If I start Evo without starting my Gateway/Firewall
box before I boot my Mandrake box I get Corba type messages that precede
my discovery of no addresses, no contacts, no calendar, no tasks.  But
if I fire up Evo on a system that has booted after the Gateway and
network is up I have no problem at all.  Very interesting, but "Why is
it so?" (to quote Sumner Miller).

Any ideas on how to fix this.  It would be nice to have a quick boot up,
no Internet connection needed, and get the contact or Calendar info I
need and shut down.  This is not possible at the moment.
