Well, having prevaricated over what to do when RHL9 EOLed, I have finally installed FC2. I've been a Ximian user since they were Helixcode, and in fact I think I downloaded the first version of their GNOME desktop on the day of its release (over a modem at that!). I'd like to thank Ximian for their wonderful software, and I'd especially like to thank Mark Gordon who has been helpful to me and others over and over, above and beyond the call of duty. I did evaluate SUSE 9.1 Pro, but I just didn't feel at home with it, and it all felt a bit too KDE-ish for me (no offense to KDE users, it's just not my bag). FC2 is very nice, and not at all flaky like I was worried it might be. But I am such a fan of Ximian's work that I will certainly be keeping an eye out for future Novell offerings. I'll miss my Ximian Desktop! As this list is currently very low volume I don't think I'll unsubscribe as yet, so you haven't necessarily seen the last of me.
