Just had a weird problem this morning, and wondered if anyone else had experienced anything similar. I'm using Red Hat 9, and Ximian Desktop v.2. I used rug to get and install the latest version of openoffice: this completed successfully, however afterwards evolution started complaining that a number of mailboxes, which I'd converted to maildir format some time ago, were not in maildir format. I managed to fix it (lucky hunch more than anything else.) I found that in each mail box directory, there was only a "cur" subdirectory, and I vaguely remembered that maildir-format boxes should actually have "cur", "new" and "tmp" subdirectories. So, I created "new" and "tmp", and to my enormous relief evolution started without complaint. So, I'm left wondering what happened - seems like there are two possibilities (both equally unlikely), viz: (1) the openoffice update deleted the "new" and "tmp" subdirectories in maildir-format mailboxes, or (2) the update installed a new version of a library also used by evolution, and something in that insists on "new" and "tmp" being present. Very odd. -- Peter W. Duffy _______________________________________________ Users maillist - [email protected] http://lists.ximian.com/mailman/listinfo/users
