Follow-up Comment #4, bug #66796 (group octave):

The contour() code (in particular __countour__.cc) can be improve, but for now
a somewhat simple fix (to avoid labels overcrouding) see attached (file
__clabel__.m). 
With this I get (file countour_labels.png)
