Huh,what the hell are you talking about? the ProximityKnotter is thought to=
 merge overlapping parts if points sufficiently overlapp right? What I was =
talking about was the degroth mechanism for octaeders, like with tetraders =
were one line can be removed and the endpoints are merged the same can be d=
one with a octaeder.

thats what I was commenting on, my thought was this:

  /\ /\ || | its the same with octaeder and tetraeder
 /  \        /  \       ||      | onyl the side view is different:     =

/____\ ---> /    \ ---> || ---> | Tetra     /     Octa /
\    /      \    /      ||      |          /          /
 \  /        \  /       ||      |         /____      /
  \/          \/        ||      |                    \
                                                      \
                                                       \
Regarding the proximity knoter, does it only look at one point?
I would introduce a condition only to merge if there are three points direc=
tly connected(a face) that fulfill all the distance condition.
If not you might get lose connections(like the tops of 2 tetras) and you mi=
ght merge what should nt be merged.
