However, physics (cosmology, more properly) must be careful to distinguish between the faces of a (pentagonal, not rhombic) dodecahedron and the vertices of an icosahedron. Both are 12, so depending on what observation is being made (matter, or energy, or distributions in the universe), the universe could be either. In my work, it's neither. Universe is a sphere, BUT it will show icosahedral/dodecahedral distributions of matter. _On_ a sphere (boundary of universe) composed of points of space, Euler has critical things to say, chief among which is the necessary 12 evenly-placed instances of _fiveness_ required by the attempt to curve a plane (points natively in a six-around-one pattern) into a sphere. The distortion that occurs causes there to be 12 places where either five-around-one, or five-around-none (my personal preference), exist. So if the universe is as I believe it to be, "of course" it's dodecahedral --in effect, but not necessarily in shape. IOW, yeah, that's nice to have some hard evidence pointing to dodecahedrality (/slash/ icosahedraliity), but it's not news to me: my system predicts it. Have a Happy!
