Re: Problem going back to original boot loader

I too am having this problem - though i havent modified my bootloader
yet - im simply trying to upgrade the firmware for my wifi adaptor
before i begin so ill have WPA ability

I have an ipaq h5555 - following the official updates gets me nowhere -
as soon as i run the update tool to update the firmware of the ipaq
(needed before the wifi firmware update) it reboots the ipaq into a
state with a progress bar but the usb is then disconnnected and windows
complains about the usb device malfunctioning - pages ive found have
warned against trying to update the firmware in linux as the emulation
isnt good enough to communicate to the device on that level

does anyone on list have experience with this? Ive tried contacting HP
but i simply get the "please check your connection to the computer -
it's probably not plugged in"

id really hate to move past this and end up with wifi that cannot
utilise WPA...
