A definite 'No'.

I run quite a bunch of applets that are not so small. If I cram the
windows I have open into the toolbar, I get the same unreadable stuff
I had with ion.

What might be nice is a collapsible top bar, like the toolbar is
collapsible.

Likely inconsistent with the rest of the WM/apps.

Putting all top things in the toolbar seems to crowded, too...

clock, cpuload, battery, menu, xstroke, xkbd, memload, pppload.

Do I really want all these? Yes, I run out of memory too often, I can
dial in with GSM so need a simple way to detect network activity, the
others you can imagine yourself.
