For one, they hired an opie developer (me) 4 years ago to be community 
liaison. So, in essence, Opie has given an earful to TT management many times 
about community issues, whether anyone realizes it or not.

They also have hired a few other developers that have worked on opie over the 
years - tronical, sandman, and ben meyer, as well as several kde developers.

and for two, TT release their code, that was not magically written for free, 
as GPL so something such as Opie could ever exist in the first place.
TT also allows me to continue to work on Opie, if I have time to do so. but 
between work, my wife, and my toddler son, whom only loves to throw the mouse 
off the desk and pound on the keyboard, I have only a little time devoted to 
writing community software.

Could be construed as a threat. but I wont take it as that.
