What XML library are you using?  (I started off with lxml, but ran
into memory leaks, so switched to ElementTree, which, by the way, is 
going to be part of Python 2.5, and I've been much happier since...)

Heh.  Thanks.  :)  It might be easier than I seemed to make it, though. 
  I'm rarely sure whether I'm doing things the simple way, or whether 
I'm just miring myself in deeper and deeper in needless complexity...

Ya know, if I had to do it all over again (or, say, if one of you had to 
do it), it might be worth writing a small C++ conduit which just ran a 
(set of?) python script(s) using CreateProcess, instead of trying to 
stuff a Python interpreter in the same Process...
