Situation update + some questions

Hello

I am trying to catchup again with the current development. I have downloaded
various things thanks to Mickey and read a lot of doc (maybe not enough)

Based on this I think #1 task should be the bootloader (to ease kernel/os work),
#2 2.6 kernel (to ease creation of new userspace hardware apps), then #3 new
images/packages (to take advantage of oe build process)

1) bootloader

If I got it right, the bootloader from
http://handhelds.org/~chicken/simpad-bootldr.tar.bz2 has ony got 1 problem : it
doesn't initialise the 2nd flash rom chip. I will try to fix that, but I hope
it's the only bug - tell me if you know others ! 

If it can't be fixed, I will still use it for kernel dev and go back to 2.5.3
when the kernels works. This would be a pity since the new bootloader could be
used for opie/gpe/wince tripleboot

2) kernel

The efforts have been split. I will try to gather the various part into a single
working 2.6 kernel - hopefully the current one.

4) hardware updates

Besides that, I'm still thinking about hardware upgrades. The battery is next -
according to http://palmtopmagazin.de/board/tablett/173955.php3?subaction=list
and http://palmtopmagazin.de/board/tablett/249731.php3?subaction=list it should
be quite easy.

I am now working on flashrom replacement - hell if the bootloader can't be
fixed, the flash chip could be replaced by a bigger one :-) The simpad uses a
couple of RC28F128J3A-150  (RC = 64-Ball Easy BGA, 28F = intel, 128 = 128 MB ie
16 Mb, J3 = strataflash serie, A = 25 µm, 3 = 3V, 150 = 150 ns) while
RC28F256J3C-125 is now available...

However both the process technology (18 µm) and the access speed are different.
so maybe another chip would be required. I've been told STM makes J3
compatible chips- the M58LW serie, but unfortunately only the M58LW128 is
available (why oh why)

Maybe the bootloader would need some tweaking but it should be
possible to update the flash too. Anyone knows where I could purchase some ?

I still can't find a bluetooth antenna and a connector to test the bluetooth
chip.
