I ended up buying a Dell m700, which I've been very happy with - except the keyboard. The screen is only 12", and the keyboard was squished to fit in the same space. They chose to squish in particular the "," "." "/" in the lower right of the Scholes keyboard - unfortunately, that's "wvz" on Dvorak, and a little more important. I imagine it's a royal pain with any keyboard layout, because the key spacing is off, and I whacked the wrong keys for months. I'm adjusted to it now, but it's my one big regret about the laptop. Look out for this if you're buying a small laptop. Otherwise, I'm inclined to agree with the other posters: pretty much any operating system can change the layout in software with the greatest of ease, and I haven't moved my keycaps in many years ... again, assuming you can now touch-type Dvorak. -- Giles http://www.gilesorr.com/ [email protected]
