I suppose this could be a defect in the keyboard or particularly extreme
body dimensions, in which cases replacing the keyboard or getting an
appropriately sized keyboard (which may be difficult), respectively, might
help. I'll focus on other potential factors.

The keyboard is not the only thing that affects hand and wrist pain. And I
almost want to say that changing other things should have a larger impact
than changing the keyboard. I'm thinking desk height and forearm support.
Also, one notable aspect of the Kinesis Contoured keyboard is that it is
very tall, so you could consider how that affects where you should put it.

If you send pictures of the workstations you were using including the floor,
chair, desk, monitor and other peripherals, (I assume that these are all
components of the workstation.) I'll see if I can come up with more precise
ideas.
