Hi Jason, in the past months I bought and tested some cameras (50~200 USD). My target was POE, optional PTZ, mandatory use without cloud or apps. I gave up! (For now) Some cameras have very good image quality and good construction but the firmware/software side is terrible. Usually all the functions are available ONLY using their app and the compatibility with other software is poor. Some requires a plugin and Internet Explorer to configure!!! One camera has written in the product page: "Perfect choice for both beginners and DIY camera enthusiasts.". But it was not reachable with a browser!!!
