TINI400 Loader Question

I have a situation on my new TINI400 board where sometimes the application (Slush) fails to start. I get the "Application load complete" message, and then it just sits there forever. If I reset and restart using JavaKit it does the same thing again. If I power down for more than 30 seconds and restart, it usually comes up. My question is, what is the loader doing at that time that's different? The answer to this may give me a clue as to what is wrong with my hardware.
