Actually I think the video issue is a political not technical. The MPAA
would scream bloody murder and sue Roku into the ground. That is why I think
the video is a wink, wink this is Linux. I have used CinemaSix to stream
DVDs all day long over a hardwire network and when the stars, moon and
temperature are right over a netgear 108 wifi network. Video just sucks over
wireless right now until speed gets faster and there is a way to do a
switched wireless vs broadcast/hub wireless.

Yeah, but every home integrator on the planet should be capable of
integrating the Roku's IR control, at a minimum. This is a minor issue. By
comparison - the lack of finished, stable, supported video playback software
is a killer/showstopper issue.

I have looked at a bunch of these convergence devices. This is the first one
that actually out preformed its official feature set. The only issues I have
with the unit are the remote and the lack of a serial or network protocol.
Yes I know about ecp but screen scrapping is not my idea of a protocol and
the majority of home integrators are not up to the task of scripting a Linux
box via telnet. If they were we would have had the Jetson home last century.
