A call for evidence: sentence or title case for headings?

This discussion about evidence is a very timely one for me. I'm just having a tussle with an editor about whether to use title case or sentence case in headings in an online column - quite a long one, a few screens-ful. The editor asked me: "What's your data?". I'd like to ask all of you: what is your opinion? And do you have data to back that opinion, or arguments why data might be irrelevant to the discussion?
