I imagine these days most smokers know cigarettes kill you... eventually. But when you're young 'eventually' is a long long way off, along with the need for a pension. There was a brand called 'Death Cigarettes' marketed in the UK in the 90s. I remember hearing about it but not actually seeing it. According to a Wikipedia entry on it, their slogan was 'The Grim Reaper Don't Come Cheaper'.
