This is one of the issues that annoys me. If some of your work is for
command line tools why doesn't it annoy you?

Startup time is an issue that could easily be fixed by better OS
integration. But Sun don't seem to want to do tight OS integration. I
find this odd given that they are a unix company.

Yes, but bloat is different from size and maturity. I wouldn't call
unix "bloated" for example. Massive. But not bloated. Bloated implies
some level of discomfort.

Now, pass me the Rennie's (this might not be a joke in some other
locales).
