First, go to "Admin -> Global Permissions" and make sure your account is in a group nominated in the "Bulk Edit" permission.  Although it's called bulk *edit*, it also allows delete, move and transition.

Second, check you have "delete issue" permission in the project(s) you need to work on.

Finally, do a search for the issues you want to delete.  It doesn't have to be exact - in the example I gave, I'd just filter for the entire project, but you probably have more issues, so maybe a search for "summary = delete me" might be more helpful

Once you've got the results of that on screen, then look to the top right for tools -> bulk edit.  Follow that to select what you want to do with them.  You'll then get a screen listing the results of the filter, with empty tick boxes on the left.  Select the ones you actually want to delete and go for it!
