This is a reminder for the NetBeans Governance Board voting that is in progress and will close on Oct/20. The list of nominees you can vote for is: Tom Ball (Sun Employee) Niclas Hedhman Charlie Kelly Milos Kleint Maxym Mykhalchuk Michael Wever William Will To cast your VOTE, please go to http://www.netbeans.org/articles/boardFall2002_form.html. The voting period closes on October/20, midnight in the last timezone. You can also go to the netbeans.org website and click on the voting banner on any of the pages there. Niclas Hedhman, 38 years old, recently married, living in Malaysia. 18 years professional experience in process control and industrial automation systems. Became "Java for applications" advocate in 1996, implemented first Java-based building automation system in 1997. Became a JCP member in 2000, invited by the RMI group, for the JSR-78, dealing with Custom References in RMI. Currently Chief Software Architect at eWarna.com, which provides color communication and color management solutions for the textile industry. Charlie Kelly is developing Netbeans modules for encrypted email and an encrypted file system. Charlie began studying computer science in 1967 at St. Francis College. He taught computer science at Dalien Institute of Technology and taught information systems and operations research at the University of San Diego. He was CTO at Niwot Communications from 1999 to June 2002. Milos Kleint, 27 years old, Czech, currently living in Malaysia and working for the same company as Niclas Hedhman (eWarna.com). Previously working for Sun Microsystems on the netbeans project (version control modules) for 2 years. Maxym Mykhalchuk, 22 years old, partnered ;), living in Ukraine. 2 years professional experience in AI programming. Recently graduated from the University, now applying for PhD. Currently System Programmer at SPA "Infomet" (child of SPA "Orbita"www.orbita.dp.ua), which provides GIS solutions for weather forecasting & weather monitoring. Michael Wever, 25 years old, born and breed Australian, but recently (3 weeks) immigrated to Norway. Bachelor in Computer Science and Physics, with thesis in Robotic software, Java3D, and reverse transformations. Worked with www.ECSI.com.au for 3 years developing solutions for the Coal and Metals Mining Industry primarily with Minex. Worked for the last 2 years designing and implementing architecture for Minex5, separating the existing product into a server application, and the client-gui on top of NetBeans. Experience also in C/C++ with OpenGL, and Fortran. When not cutting code I relish in rockclimbing and snowboarding. William Will 43 years old, living with my domestic partner in San Francisco, California. My past lives were as an engineer, consultant and engineering manager. Xemus Software, the software engineering firm I helped found in San Francisco in 1997, is the main sponsor of Project XEMO, an open source project building music software with the NetBeans Platform. Having come from a primarily C/Lisp/Smalltalk background I have been working in Java since it hit the market in 1996. In a previous life I worked for Siemens/Nixdorf in Germany, which is where I received my high school and college education in Computer Science.
