I don't remember if you've ever heard from me, since I've been absent 
from the translation activities for a long time (at least more than a

My situation is exactly the one you described. Unfortunately, I'm the 
only active Italian translator... oh well, the last who was active. I 
joined the NB l10n team in a period when the study wasn't as demanding 
as it is now.

Constantin's ideas about the topics to be discussed are valid. However, 
he wrote:

but in many cases there is no "internal team", since everything is taken 
care of by a single person.

If I had to explain briefly my opinion, I'd say that the problem 
consists mainly in the lack of sponsors for this project. When a 
language has a badly coordinated team (or even no team at all), the 
resulting translation is consequently bad. This happens because, even 
assuming all individuals' work quality is high, everyone follows his own 
lexicon and "translation style", so that the result becomes different 
when the underlying translator changes.
Of course giving such local directives is not the global team's 
responsibility. Anyway, returning to the main topic, many problems could 
be solved if contributors where more (numerically) and more coordinated, 
so that the project could count on a less discontinuous involvement.

Although your meeting proposal is a praiseworty initiative, frankly I 
prefer not to take on a commitment. Meanwhile, let's hear if there are 
other suggestions.
