Sadly true. You might remember I filed an issue for Collab
asking about one way we could do this :
http://www.netbeans.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=38377
Response : no, you can't do it.
However, this is not a *disadvantage* to the $lang.nb.org
proposal IMO, as we would be in essentially the same state as
we are now - we have no translated navbars for
www/www/index_fr.html, so nothing changes in this respect.

Well, we could do it as Maxym suggested - assuming the path
to the file relative from each website root (www and $lang)
matches perfectly.
OTOH, do you think this is even necessary ? If we have flags
on the home page, which point to $lang.nb.org/index.html, then
from that home page the user should be able to find all they
need ?

Not automtatically, no, but not hard. I would have to adapt
my www RSS script to look for news on $lang sites, and then
publish that as $lang/www/rss.xml or similar. This would be
easy.
I *think* I heard that SourceCast 2.6 will provide automatic
RSS feeds of news items ... but I am not sure. The upgrade
schedule for 2.6 is still not clear.
