Is it still true with latest svn (after beta2 I think) ? I worked on 
fixing this bug something like a week ago I think, at least the 
alignment part. This was typically the case in the logout countdown label.
Now there is still an issue when the label "moves" during the animation 
(when a neighbor label resizes e.g.). Will see what I can do.

No objection.

So far, though, from the few reviews I'v read on the web on the kde4.4 
beta releases, people were quite happy with these animations.
Also: won't your statements also apply to plasma ? (the hover in taskbar 
is faded, as are the displacement of the window preview, the tab 
changing in kicker, etc.)
