Ergo, the bias is justified. Just don't say it's not there and I thank you for 
not denying it, which so many people have tried to do. The needs of the group 
outweigh the needs of the individual, no problem - for me anyway. I didn't 
play ping pong commits on the website.. I raised my concerns, discussed with 
people and accepted the outcome.

That's all speculation though. While existing legislature on software patents 
has affected software development, the doom scenarios people were argumenting 
with have not even come true in the US, despite some very high-profile 
software projects that do have a large development base there.

Still, I signed the petition. I don't agree with the EP proposal.

I never searched for those terms until they appeared in my access_log, when I 
noticed the whole issue has been picked up here and there. Given the topic of 
the discussion, I think those are relevant keywords to answer a question on 
my ratings with.

You're entitled to have an opinion on Neil's post. But don't think I share his 
thoughts on it or that it shapes my thoughts on the discussion to what 
extent, if any, politics should be allowed to make KDE.

Little. I cannot check ratings without entering keywords and those seemed 
relevant to the discussion since it's what Neil's post was about.

If I had a motive to point out KDE was anti-American, it wouldn't make sense 
for me to stick with the project, especially not with an application that has 
tokens which are predominantly showing American culture. Never had a 
complaint about those, not even about the flag. Why is it there? I looked at 
Rob's (here too, Malda) icons and picked a diverse set of the ones I liked.
If people ask for more flags in there, that's fine by me as long as they look 
nice, although I'd probably have to support icon sets then, to avoid too much 
clutter.
