The Soviet Union was also a lot stronger after the war than before. The had 
only just got their military industry going and equiped their army. Also 
Germany was already loosing by the time US joined, so in a sense it was a 
"safe" war to get entangled in.

You do realise the EU president doesnt have any special powers, and is mostly 
a cerimonial position? (or is a dictator a dictator if he can dictate?)

There's a reason we let Berlusconi stay. He can be as corrupt as he want in 
Italy, but in the EU he gets no power to exploit.
