That's not the issue.  Qt *is* making the dialogs, just not with the 
other window as a parent, because the other window is a different 
process.  Read my original post, it's basically going through a couple 
of layers of indirection, including a fork.

If it was that easy, I wouldn't be asking the kde-devel guys for 
suggestions.  =)
