B^). Actually, I didn't. It was reported that I was 'KDE Representative Royalty' if I remember correctly. I went to all the trouble of making sure I got branded that way and then people get confused with the terminology and start calling me 'King' :-( > There's one other consideration though that is important to this > issue...this mailing list is the hub of promotional activities for > KDE. Yes, I'd like to see overall much more presentation of the promo team as service providers - we do our own stuff proactively, but are also there for anyone in KDE who wants advice or help with promotion to come to us and we make things happen (this has been previously floated as the 'mean lean release machine' by Jos and others). Re the branding, I think the best thing is to have very good and clear documentation in the wiki that we can point people too - and add to that when something comes up that we had not considered. > We also need to accept that improvements and processes will come with > practice. Yes, so let's flesh out the proposal in the shared doc to full release announcement templates and then move it to the wiki. > Different subject: > From Markus - Do we have official abbreviations like KPW (KDE Plasma > Workspaces)? > > I kinda recall that the ultimate shortened version was simply > "Plasma". I'd rather try and keep it specific when we're talking about one of the workspaces: Plasma Desktop OR Plasma Netbook etc and Plasma workspaces when talking in general. However, Plasma is fine for talking about the things that Plasma (framework) itself brings us: - Plasma makes it easy to share widgets over the network - I can easily share widgets from my Plasma Desktop - If you run a Plasma workspace then you can also share your widgets remotely Again, there's room for disagreement ;-) Stu _______________________________________________ This message is from the kde-promo mailing list.
