we're coming up on 3 years since the initial launch. we got fucked on a number
of fronts but have generally recovered. the market follows that, but it does
follow rather than lead. it takes time and we need to continue to beat the
drum.

we pulled back to even with GNOME in the LJ reader's choice awards this year,
jumping 10 points. news on the web is generally universally positive for what
we're putting out there. we have lots of great opportunities with Qt, mobile,
etc. that people are starting to recognize as well.

through the great efforts of people like you on the ground, our small army of
grassroots promoters, high-level news contributors, etc. we're continueing to
get the message out and round up the flock again.

we need to simply continue doing this. keep reaching out, keep making the one-
on-one as well as the one-to-many contacts.

if there is energy and time (i have neither to spare atm, unfortunately :/ )
we could stand to boost our grassroots efforts by giving people tools to help
spread the word about KDE's software amongst their friends and colleagues.
tool #1 is confidence and permission, other tools might be presentation
materials and organizational helpers (like organizing a "present KDE in your
local community" campaign). we're already encouraging this in our release
announcements, so we've already been starting on some of that.

on a personal note: Augustin, thanks for being a KDE Superhero in Spain. :)
