I have some more information. Yesterday I played with some libraries
(libxineparts and so on). Now "KServiceTypeProfile::preferredService" is
returning libkmplayerpartmplayer and not libxine (you can see in
standard output of my application, after "Library:"
Now my application is not crashing (and ops, i have not tried with
gwenview, but shouldn't. I don't have access to this computer now)

So, I think that libxine or libxineparts is crashing and not Kparts or
gwenview.

There is other call to KParts API that gives all services that opens a
MIME type. We could also read the list of service and use other one that
is not xine (or not xine in some versions). Googling for xine or libxine
crashes gave me other applications crashing. Kphotoalbum is using this
call (not blacklisting xine but using it). 

I think that user can change the priority in kcontrol. Users could
prioritize mplayer more than xine... 

More ideas: check last libxine to know if there is some bug (yet), or
use an application without kparts using libxine to see if it crashes.
