Hello, I think mainly about 3D games. That is why I search an efficient language, which could be easily used with C (or inline assembly) in critical parts of the code. I am currently looking for something different from the ugly but industry standard C++. Many reports point out that the big majority of game development studios do not have a good approach in front of software quality and waste a lot of time in debugging. That is why I am interested by contract programming. I think Eiffel could be great to handle the main part of the application, while C should be used for hardware communications (which handle shaders and geometry). We already have a few thousand lines of codes in C++, which should be ported to Eiffel, so before making the step, I would like to have the point of view of people who really know the language and the compiler. The is project is in its early stage but it should imply up to five computer science engineer and take between 12 and 18 months. Regards A. What a funny question ;-) I have not replyed on the list just because I am the main author of SmartEiffel and I presume that you are waiting for feed-back from users (and you are welcome to do so). The list is open and not moderated. People can have their own opinion (as you probably know and as we do). > I am looking for > a language as efficient as C++ (if not more) and really object > oriented. Which domain ? How many people / time / money would be involved ? Just curious.
