[phpldapadmin] remove read only mode

Hi all, sorry if this has been asked 1E6 times, but googling for "read-only" and modify is approaching uselessness. Anyway here is the question: We just installed phpldapadmin (great tool, btw) but we're having trouble (when binding as ourselves not anonymous) editing fields. It's not too clear on how to modify fields. For example, I can add an entry "mobile" into the database with my telephone number but the edit option is greyed out. What magical incantation does one need to make allow individual users to update their own fields?
